Yes, you can still slice in Cura though I would recommend to try SuperSlicer (advanced version of Prusaslicer with printer calibration built in) one day as it has official Klipper support. Not necessary as Cura is fine, just saying so you know what the majority of Klipper users use.

Yes it would be the optimal way to setup Octoprint or finished Raspberry Images like FluiddPi or MainsailOS Octoprint is the „official“ base for Klipper though personally I never had a need for Octoprint Plug-ins and use FluiddPi since a year. Klipper has also its subreddit /r/Klippers
