    Discontinued System restore tool for Linux. Creates filesystem snapshots using rsync+hardlinks, or BTRFS snapshots. Supports scheduled snapshots, multiple backup levels, and exclude filters. Snapshots can be restored while system is running or from Live CD/USB.

  • I know and didn't state to use Timeshift as a backup tool for personal data. I use it to make a backup of the current state of the system installation. You can replace the word "backup" with "snapshot", for a less ambiguous meaning, but I don't think it is wrong to use this word in this context.
