  • Element

A glossy Matrix collaboration client for the web.

  • OK, but can this be fixed? Well, kinda. There's an issue in that the whole client/server separation introduces quite a bit of bureaucracy which slows down the introduction of new features. The server people might see the value in a new feature, but are painfully aware that any changes on their end will result in all the clients needing updating. The client people may desperately want a new feature, but they can't implement their own version without risking harming the interactions of their users with those of other clients. The result is stuff like this, a ticket that's been in limbo for 5 years despite virtual unanimous agreement that it's a good idea. Oh, but it's the client? Maybe they had problems convincing the server people? Well, no the server people think it's a good idea too but they've been sitting on this for two and a half years.
