to expand on this slightly, Doom's :lang latex module installs and configures latex-preview-pane for you. If you're writing your stuff strictly in .tex files you should just be able to get started by reading the latex-preview-pane readme. If you want to do it with the help of org-mode, this issue seems to describe how to achieve that: https://github.com/jsinglet/latex-preview-pane/issues/44
