microG's connections to Google are opt-in, as can be read in the wiki. MicroG's creator Marvin Wißfeld always emphasized this in interviews. Thereby, microG makes no connections to Google in it's standard configuration (AOSP, which for example LineageOS is based on, still uses some Google Services, though).

Recently, an academic study was conducted (news report, study pdf), that compares the data collection behavior of different versions of Android. One of them was /e/, that implements microG. Please note that in the study, LineageOS was equipped with OpenGApps, so the findings don't extend to the stock versions of LineageOS and AOSP.
