  • discord.py

Discontinued An API wrapper for Discord written in Python.

  • The founder of discord.py was very right, Discord has been following such dark tracks (Read his statement over here). Discord has been around for 6 years now and they are expecting devs to recode the bots in like 6 months from now, at the time of writing. And I personally think the entire reason why Discord is doing this is to deter little people like myself from making big bots, they want to control the Discord bot market. They want to make it harder and harder for new developers to hit it big on Discord. While I know their reasoning for doing so (fake, untrusted bots gaining wide popularity in over 1,000 servers without needing to verify), it's unfair for the larger majority of people who enjoy what they do: developing on Discord.

    Official Discord API Documentation

  • I could write an entire essay about what Discord does wrong, but then I would only just repeat myself, since I did this already before (Shameless shilling I know, but it got the attention before).
