Also consider getting the unofficial proton-GE. Less stable but it can run certain games official proton builds cant yet. If you downloaded Steam through the flathub repo, you can ignore the github and download it as an add-on through the Software app.

Try protontricks as well. Like winetricks, it lets you tinker with the configurations of windows apps. Some fixes discovered by the community use this app so its a must-have imo. Protontricks can also be downloaded as an add-on if you got steam through Flathub instead
