I hadn't considered chording that way before. I'm trying right now and it's technically doable. The thumb keys closest to the fingers are slightly further apart, not as comfortably spaced because they're angled away from eachother, but can be combo'd. I think that would be easier on other thumb clusters such as carbonfet's dactyl.
I handwired the keyboard with the khail sockets directly on the switches. The diodes and wires are soldered to each end of the khail sockets. I ordered single switch pcbs for my next build so it'll look neater under the hood.
I use a modified miryoku layout. Changed the home row Alt, Ctrl, Win to bottom row to avoid accidental modifiers. I changed the symbol layer to have all the symbols I use on both sides of the keyboard for convience. I'm still experimenting with my layout since I picked up a Ploopy nano.
