    Linux 2.2, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x and 5.x kernels for the PlayStation 2. (by frno7)

    • The latest kernel that is working with a full system that I know about is a version of 2.6. Someone has been working on kernel 5.4, but I don't know much about it. (link) They mention that not many devices have been ported to work on the new kernel. They also mention the possibility of running Gentoo on the ps2. I doubt the possibility of running many modern programs due to the lack of resources the ps2 has. Because of the lack of resources, you are probably going to still have to run something that looks and acts like the older distros.
