After initially having the issue I jumped around to a bunch of different kernel versions and found that 5.10.42 is the newest one which I can use and doesn't cause the issue (LIRC just reports that "irtoy is not initialized" whenever trying to send a command.) I tried a fresh install with only the newest kernel and LIRC installed so I'm assuming that this is in fact some kind of driver incompatibility, but does anyone have any good ideas for a workaround here or am I just kind of stuck on this kernel version until LIRC or the IR Toy dev release a fix? (Probably not too likely since LIRC hasn't been updated since 2019 though... so could be I just need to find an alternative IR blaster for my setup in the long term.)
