ATHOM devices are available pre flashed with TASMOTA but the number of devices that can converted (they are all based on ESP8266 or similar) is amazing. In some cases one needs to solder on a programming cable or some header pins and in other cases they can be fooled into updating their firmware to something that is not their original firmware so over the air. Many of the "bugs" that have been exploited to allow this have been patched (in some devices) so buying devices pre-flashed with tasmota is safest bet (even if you want to run something else like ESPhome, etc.). See the Tasmota Device Templates Repository for an idea of what is compatible. The "fix" for any device that must use someone else's cloud is disposal in a hot fire.
