[How-To] Klipperize your Aquila

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/VoxelabAquila

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • FluiddPI

FluiddPi - A Pi image with Klipper, Moonraker, Fluidd and Web Camera support pre-installed.

  • Download FluiddPi from https://github.com/cadriel/FluiddPI/releases/latest, (source)

  • klipper

Discontinued Klipper is a 3d-printer firmware [Moved to: https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper] (by KevinOConnor)

  • Tuning guides (in the order I recommend doing them)!:E-Steps Calibration (rotation distance) - If you know your E-Steps already, you can use it to calculate your rotation_distance by doing 200 * 16 / ESteps, if not then I recommend uncoupling the Bowden tube and measuring from the exit side of the extruder. Push enough filament through the extruder that you can measure it (Example, 20mm), then extrude 100mm. Measure again (example, 124mm), subtract your original measurement (124-20=104). Divide that number by 100 (1.04). In printer.cfg, set rotation_distance under [extruder] to whatever the current value is multiplied by your result(34.406 * 1.04 = 35.78224), save and restart. Feel free to repeat the process to confirm your results. Input Shaping (Resonance Compnesation) - Disable accel in your slicer. Pressure Advance - Disable accel in your slicer.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • Rufus

    The Reliable USB Formatting Utility

  • You'll need to flash this image to your SD card. I used Rufus for this. Alternatives include Win32DiskImager, balenaEtcher. For Mac users, please follow the flashing instructions from RaspberryPi. For Linux users, you already know how to do this.

  • SuperSlicer

G-code generator for 3D printers (Prusa, Voron, Creality, etc.)

  • One more thing to add: there is a forked version of PrusaSlicer called SuperSlicer which has support for klipper firmware baked in. I haven't had much time to try it out but here's a link to the GitHub repo: SuperSlicer

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
