FP is definitely the future and on the JVM I wouldn't chose anything besides Scala 3. Kotlin and Java are nowhere near as powerful and Clojure is not statically typed. Outside of the JVM I'm following Lean 4 which looks like an extremely interesting combination of pure FP with dependent typing + performance and memory usage similar to that of Rust and C++. It's far from production ready though (they just released M1) :)
