If some form of pen pressure and the tablet being supported on Linux are your only required criteria, you have a lot of options for tablets. Your two main options for actual drivers would be opentabletdriver or input-wacom (which is already included in a lot of distros anyways). I’d strongly recommend opentabletdriver though, since they already support most notable wacom tablets made within the past 20 years, and can easily add a configuration for your tablet if it isn’t already supported for some reason. As for tablets themselves, I’d suggest a CTL-472 if buying new, or CTL/CTH-470 for used. CTL/CTH-460s also tend to go for very cheap on the used market, as do CTE/MTE-450s. All should be more than enough for your testing purposes though.
