  • nitter

    Alternative Twitter front-end

  • I've noticed nitter[1], teddit[2], invidous[3] etc. popping up a lot lately, and I think they're really useful. I'm not sure what these types of projects are even called. nitter calls itself an "alternative front-end", which is also what teddit uses to describe itself, but it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

So I'm curious, is there a list of these "alternative front-ends" somewhere? It would be really interesting to find some for the worst offenders of walling in content (like Facebook, Quora etc.)

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
