VLC supports command-line playback, but opens the GUI all the time, and I can't get it to hide
cmus is another Linux-only tool
Music Player Daemon (MPD is another one I can't get to work at all. It also seems very much focused around being a music server, and library manager/player, where I just want an EXE that will play a sound file I throw at it.
musikcube works, but is very much a fully fledged music player/library manager/GUI for the command line, and doesn't seem to be something I can run and just play the specified file
Music on Console (MOC) is Linux-only, so won't work

In order to play music on my speakers I have Jellyfin running in a Firefox tab on a raspberry pi connected to the speaker. It works most of the time but needs to be restarted every once in a while. Is this a silly way to achieve this "cast to speaker using pi" goal? Is there a better way?
