I'm running OpenLDAP and LL::NG, not as popular but covers both scenarios of simple auth and OIDC/SAML. Also using Kerberos with it for semi-auto login while at home. For SSH I'm using this script to pull keys from LDAP.
I have a full Bitcoin node with blockchain explorer running. I'm not running it through Tor though and I probably should start. I haven't heard of ElectRS but looks neat, I'll have to check it out. Running an LND node is something I'd like to do but haven't gotten around to yet. Are you using the Lighting network for actual purchases or just to experiment?

For your VPN setup, look into Tailscale. I can't sing enough praises about it. It is magic, free (for non enterprise) and runs on wireguard under the hood. Best VPN Service for Secure Networks - Tailscale
