That's right.. The smartmon.py doesn't support NVMe SSDs originally so I make it compatible with my SAMSUNG PM983 and very likely it won't work on other SSDs... nvme_metrics.sh seems like a good one to use. Ahh, I didn't notice this.
I found there'sa collection of community scripts that include SMART disk metrics and NVMe metrics, which can be easily slurped with the node_exporter textfile collector.
There's a bunch of changes needed for Windows, see the discussion in issue #2 and the windows branch
