  • Matomo

Empowering People Ethically with the leading open source alternative to Google Analytics that gives you full control over your data. Matomo lets you easily collect data from websites & apps and visualise this data and extract insights. Privacy is built-in. Liberating Web Analytics. Star us on Github? +1. And we love Pull Requests!

  • Plausible Analytics

Simple, open source, lightweight (< 1 KB) and privacy-friendly web analytics alternative to Google Analytics.

  • Nice to see Matomo get some attention! Matomo (you may know it as Piwik) is great and it's the original ethical / open source replacement for Google Analytics. Would be nice to see more sites switch from GA to Matomo. It pretty much does everything that GA/Google Tag Manager do. I've used it when I started moving away from Google and it does what it needs to do.

I'm now working on another ethical / open source analytics tool called Plausible. There's a cloud platform like Matomo has and you can also self-host Plausible like you can Matomo.

We're not an exact replacement for GA/Matomo but more of an alternative for those who want something simple to understand, focused on the most useful metrics rather than collecting everything possible, very lightweight, cookie free and compliant with GDPR and other privacy regulations out of the box so you don't need to worry about the cookie consent banners.

  • bast

Discontinued :monkey: Web analytics focusing on privacy and simplicity.

  • It's pretty easy to make your own analytics. It's not famous, but I open-sourced mine; it's called Bast, written mostly in Rust, and it's easy to deploy it. https://github.com/kooparse/bast

  • pirsch

    Pirsch is a drop-in, server-side, no-cookie, and privacy-focused analytics solution for Go.

  • I did the same for my Go library [0], but I don't think it's "pretty easy" if you want to do it right. Especially filtering out bots is a constant hassle, it needs to be tested, maintained, just like any other software. So, paying something like $4 is worth it, if you don't want to think about it as much.

You have a very good looking UI there. I really love the simplicity.

  • docker-matomo

    Matomo (formerly Piwik) Docker image

  • I've did some research a while ago and found that https://github.com/crazy-max/docker-matomo dockerizes it the best.

  • Guide-RGPD-du-developpeur

La CNIL publie un guide RGPD pour les développeurs

  • I believe that page may be out of date, or they've updated their github repo prematurely.

  • matomo_circumvent_adblock

Matomo/Piwik anti adblock php script which help you to circumvent the blocking of your tracking by ad blockers

  • You purchase a support license to help me to continue working on this. MCAB itself is Open Source and can be found on Github: https://github.com/simonfrey/matomo_circumvent_adblock
