  • We have an open issue about that. I did that before and could cause performance issue. I need to test it on GNOME Shell 40 though and see the result.

  • Because that extension doesn't hide the panel. It is resizing top panel to 1px. Just add light background and open a window with dark theme and maximize it. you can see the 1px line in top.

    Gnome has had vertically stacked workspaces for a long time. The Gnome 40 update unfortunately made the switch to a horizontal layout. A choice that many Gnome users disagree with. This extension completely replaces the new Gnome overview with something that resembles the old style.
