How do I use i3-cycle-focus?

I recently tried using the Alt+Tab functionality on i3 as mentioned on the arch wiki. I copied the file from the link (this one), made it an executable and placed it at ~/.config/i3/i3-cycle-focus.py. I also added the lines mentioned as comments to the i3 config file as well (I mentioned the full paths for the executables). I restarted i3 and then tried using the key combo to switch between 2 tabbed windows but nothing happened, no error was also reported. Can I get some help as to how to implement this properly?
