How do I log flights for more than two days? Image is from VRS, using a raspberry Pi. I seek to track ALL flights ever recorded, not to filter at all.

Discontinued ADS-B Exchange Linux Setup Scripts

  • More to the point, https://www.adsbexchange.com/, doesn't take bribes to hide traffic of governments, rich, powerful, or otherwise. If it's broadcasting ADS-B or Mode-S, we'll show it and archive it. This doesn't include the TIS-B up links for various reasons not appropriate to detail here - but if you setup a receiver for both frequencies, you will detect 1090 traffic and 978 UAT traffic. If you have line of sight to that tower, then you'll also get the primary radar relays from the uplink broadcasts.

  • readsb

    ADS-B decoder swiss knife

  • Assuming that "event" means "my radio receives a packet", I haven't wanted/needed to do that, but if I did, I'd start with dump1090 or readsb and periodically read the aircraft.json file and store the results in my database.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • dump1090

Dump1090 is a simple Mode S decoder for RTLSDR devices

  • I suppose it would also be possible to do something as primitive as starting dump1090 and interpreting the standard output or dumping it into a text file.
