How do I set custom new tab?

I want to use Bento https://github.com/migueravila/Bento as my startpage. I tried creating an extension to set it as my new tab, but the JS won't work even with unsafe-inline. Does anyone know how to set your new tab page to a local file with js and css working? Thanks.

Install xiaoxiaoflood's or alice0775's custom JS loader, add the "Restore browser.newtab.url" to about:config" (linked in the readme) and set the URL to your local index file (it'll include the JS/CSS).
