So to help myself and others, I created a hook that handles (some) of the logic for you while leaving you to handle the UI, UX, and whatever special logic is needed for your datepicker. It's really just a small wrapper around date-fns with some optional convenience like state management for date and date range selection, checking if a date is in range, and so on.
