You can install omv on top of any linux distro, here is how you can do that: https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/docs/blob/master/Adden-C-Installing_OMV5_on_32-bit_i386.pdf I wouldn't use debian testing on a headless system as a lot of things can go wrong, so I don't recommend this option.
