  • format-udf

Bash script to format a block device (hard drive or Flash drive) in UDF. The output is a drive that can be used for reading/writing across multiple operating system families: Windows, macOS, and Linux. This script should be capable of running in macOS or in Linux.

  • Using exFAT under macOS over a period of a few years led to many of my drives becoming corrupted. I have not had issues since I switched away from exFAT. I am convinced that macOS's exFAT driver is just horribly buggy, and I encourage everyone to stop using it.

If you a multiplatform filesystem for e.g. a USB thumb drive, I have had a lot of success with UDF. Surprisingly so, given that it's basically a hack. https://github.com/JElchison/format-udf This won't work on drives over 2TB, however.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.
