  1. miryoku

Miryoku is an ergonomic, minimal, orthogonal, and universal keyboard layout.

I have a 36-key miryoku layout on my corne and found many aspects of it to be very intuitive at the start, for example, there is a numpad layer and the symbol layer has all of the same positions, like ! on the symbol layer is where the 1 on the numpad is. Or my nav layer has (this is the flipped/invertedT version):

  3. zmk-config

Personal ZMK firmware configuration for various boards (34-keys, Corneish Zen, Planck)

One other thing I wish I knew way earlier: give combos a chance. I thought I wouldn't like them, but now literally all of my symbols are on combos. Inspired by urob's zmk config https://github.com/urob/zmk-config

  4. qmk_firmware

Open-source keyboard firmware for Atmel AVR and Arm USB families (by wolfwood)

I think I adapted this from getreuer, but i use a braces macro, which is a single key that produces all different paired symbols based in which mods are held https://github.com/wolfwood/qmk_firmware/commit/c20daabc465b785ac3bd11d7a0c62290f49d9d08 (I added even more in my zmk map)

  5. monkeytype

The most customizable typing website with a minimalistic design and a ton of features. Test yourself in various modes, track your progress and improve your speed.

Try a small change and sometimes a drastic one (like dropping a column or row) and mash keybr.com and monkeytype.com until it feels natural, or not then revert. And if I revert I often try again a few weeks later...
