This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/SteamOS

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • AppMan

Manage 1900+ AppImage packages and official standalone apps for GNU/Linux without root privileges using the extensible and ever-growing AUR-inspired database of "AM Application Manager". Easy to use like APT and powerful like PacMan.

  • appimagepool

A simple, modern AppImageHub Client, powered by flutter.

  • I think it's safe to install it directly as it stores everything in a single directory. For AppImages there is also AppImagePool + AppImageLauncher (can be installed rootless, useful for better integration of appimages).

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • AppImageLauncher

Helper application for Linux distributions serving as a kind of "entry point" for running and integrating AppImages

  • I think it's safe to install it directly as it stores everything in a single directory. For AppImages there is also AppImagePool + AppImageLauncher (can be installed rootless, useful for better integration of appimages).

  • SteamDeck-SteamOS-Guides

Steam Deck SteamOS guides for things like disk encryption, installing additional packages, and more.

  • I've created KDE Vault and made a directory inside it. I use this directory as a $HOME for distrobox. So, only single directory is encrypted. If you care about encryption, there is a way to LUKS-encrypt /home, but it's a hack and should not be done unless you understand what you do. And of course, things may break in the future.

  • SteamDeck-Clover-dualboot

Script to install Clover - a graphical boot manager for the Steam Deck.

  • You may also find useful this project. It's a preconfigured Clover that can automatically reinstall itself after system upgrades. It automatically detects different OS on different drives and some OS are already preconfigured with beautiful icons. Works flawlessly for me, tested with Ventoy USB drive with multiple images and with Tails (Deck is an amazing device for anonymous Internet access!) on SDCard. The only things I adjusted were menu timeout and theme. I'm not sure if it's better or worse compared to refind.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
