The grid array you’re referring to is the 480p Test Suite and it’s available for several different consoles and Everdrives. There are several different test patterns in the suite that can help adjust the CRT’s geometry. I actually have your exact same model of Sony (love all the inputs) and have the geometry dialed in just right. You’re correct, you will need the original remote to get into the advance menu for geometry adjustment. IMPORTANT - Make sure to write down any numbers BEFORE you make adjustments just in case you need to revert back to them! The internet is your friend here, as there are several guides out there for making these adjustments in these menus. Good luck!
