i have rebuilt the mesa drivers from tobhe source https://github.com/tobhe/mesa on ubuntu.

Hardware acceleration is not upstream and does not have a stable kernel interface yet. You need to use the corresponding tag in our repo to the kernel you are running. The mapping isn't really maintained anywhere explicitly but you can look at the commit log of our PKGBUILDs repo to get an idea, since I keep them matched there.
