Lots of people are migrating to Lemmy. Thatās the one Iāve seen most often, anyway. And itās the one that the mod team Iām part of is considering moving to since we were threatened by the admins. Apparently itās a bit difficult to navigate at first, but you find your way around pretty fast. Idk I havenāt explored it yet.
Whenever I have imposter syndrome during development, I will always think of how absolutely awful your handling of this is. I've already purged my other accounts of data with Power Delete Suite (Available here for anyone else that wants to do the same) and will be purging this, my last alt account, when I'm out of the office.
Or KBin (see https://kbin.social or https://kbin.pub) - itās a smaller project in earlier stages, but with super-helpful friendly devs who already have a great-looking project (which, thanks to ActivityPub, is compatible with Lenny servers).
One of the 2 devs has a github repo full of his essays, which while I can't say the message is all bad, it goes down the crazy rabbithole
2) I created a rather simple chrome extension that removes all Reddit search results from Google, and I posted it on Github yesterday. Anyone who's interested can find it here: https://github.com/r2hvc3q/redditnot
People should use Matrix rooms and spaces (groups of rooms, like Discord servers). Don't just use matrix.org as your homeserver, decentralize! You don't miss out on anything if you pick a different homeserver, they sync.
Discord isn't decentralized, it's not private, but it's popular and has free API access! Now, an alternative is a reverse engineered Discord backend (originally Fosscord) called Spacebar. It's not complete, but it's designed to be Discord compatible (talk to Discord peeps), decentralized, and E2E encrypted. They have their own client and early server.
