quickwit
Cloud-native search engine for observability. An open-source alternative to Datadog, Elasticsearch, Loki, and Tempo.
Have a look at SigNoz, https://github.com/SigNoz/signoz. It is built on top of clikchouse, so the slicing and dicing on trace data should be super fast. It has metrics, traces and logs all in 1 place with heavy documentation on OpenTelemetry https://signoz.io/docs/instrumentation/overview/.
Thanks for your reply! Pretty much running into all these issues stated here: https://github.com/jaegertracing/jaeger/issues/3571
We're using Jaeger with Quickwit backend. If you have access to any cloud object storage, such as S3, Quickwit works really well and the storage is as cheap as it can get. They just released a new version today! OSS project, completely free to use, still new but shows a lot of promise in my book
