  • Indeed. But as you know, you won't use any of these to install something like Audacity. Simply because you can't (I'd love to be corrected on this though). While on the other hand an AppImage, a native package (which can be used for both Distrobox(/Toolbx) and layering), a flatpak, a Nix package and a snap do exist for it. Therefore, choice necessitates us to prefer a method of installation over the others. But in the case of Audacity (and many other apps/programs/software) these language specific package managers are often not relevant, simply for the basic fact that the package is not offered through it.
