  • sops

Simple and flexible tool for managing secrets

  • I decided to use SOPS to store secrets as Vault seemed like a bit of an overkill as I'm not using K8s. While it works in my compose setup, there haven't been any commits in over a year. There's plenty of PRs and lots of issues but it seems nobody actually does anything there. Some projects are stable and don't require a lot of maintenance but this doesn't feel like that. Even Go security issues with high severity are not addressed, e.g. https://github.com/mozilla/sops/pull/1208

  • transcrypt

transparently encrypt files within a git repository (by elasticdog)

  • I was looking into secret storage in git recently and rather liked Transcrypt: https://github.com/elasticdog/transcrypt

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
