Items not available or installable on Orange Pi: Jpilot or Bitwarden password managers Pacman makepkg Orange Pi, at this stage, appears to be too new to be suitable for a desktop. Edit Booting from M.2 SSD Using the procedure here: https://github.com/Joshua-Riek/ubuntu-orange-pi5 This requires adding a PPA repository: https://launchpad.net/\~jjriek/+archive/ubuntu/orangepi5 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jjriek/orangepi5 sudo apt update This is how to make booting from SSD work Download Balena Etcher for ARM64 here: https://github.com/futurejones/balena-etcher-arm/releases/download/v1.7.9/balena-etcher-electron\_1.7.9+5945ab1f\_arm64.deb and install the usual way with dpkg -i Then use the etcher to install the ubuntu image obtained using the Joshua Riek Launchpad PPA listed above, marking the SSD as target. Procedure below is from Reddit: –used Imager to erase the SD and flash the latest Debian Xfce image –booted up –used gparted to complete erase the SSD and create a single large ext4 partition. –used orangepi5-config > System… to boot from the SSD (=copy over the OS) –used it again to copy over the bootloader –shut down –removed the SD and turned on the system, *knowing* it would not work And it worked, just like that. Woot! Updated, made some appearance changes, and restarted it. Still going…yeah. I can only advise people to 1) erase everything before starting, and 2) try lots of times before giving up totally. Installing Bitwarden This is not required! Just add the Bitwarden extension to the browser, as usual. https://www.makeuseof.com/self-host-bitwarden-password-manager-raspberry-pi-zero/ https://stackoverflow.com/questions/72652496/how-to-restart-portainer-on-ubuntu Enabling https on Cloudflare: https://developers.cloudflare.com/ssl/edge-certificates/additional-options/always-use-https/
