I'm not sure what you're asking relating to an example, but I can say that an overwhelming amount of notes hasn't happened to me yet. I use notebooks and sub-notebooks religiously, and also wrote my own web app for doing kanban-style organizing with notes that I've been using to outline things and it's been working really well. https://github.com/itsthejoker/kanbaninator if you want to try it.
