I have the playbook for Cisco routers on my Github along with a post-commit example script to send email when changes are detected.

To watch for BGP route changes of your own advertised routes, you can use bgpalerter. We have this running on an external host and it sends live alerts if, for example, routes are withdrawn or major route changes happen.
