If you want to update the custom firmware just go here, download the luma3ds zip file and extract it. There should be a file called boot.firm on the root of your sd card, delete the current one and replace it with the new one from the zip file.
To get checkpoint, go here and download the cia file. Put it somewhere on your sd card (it doesn’t matter where as long as you remember where it is) and then open FBI on your console. Click SD and from there find where you put the file. When you get to it press A and select “install an delete cia.” This will install it your home menu and then delete the cia so it doesn’t clutter your sd card (once it’s installed the cia isn’t needed).
