I want to make a sort of wiki-based website, what platform should I use?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/webdev

Our great sponsors
  • SurveyJS - Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • astro

The web framework for content-driven websites. ⭐️ Star to support our work!

  • Astro is perfect for this. There are a lot of starter themes for this kind of stuff too. You can define templates for your different types of pages and populate them with content using markdown or an external CMS (like headless wordpress, strapi, storyblok, etc). There are a lot of existing guides made for this kind of stuff.

  • BookStack

A platform to create documentation/wiki content built with PHP & Laravel

  • Besides the wikis already mentioned, you could look at BookStack. However, the tool takes a different approach than a typical wiki.

  • SurveyJS

Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App. With SurveyJS form UI libraries, you can build and style forms in a fully-integrated drag & drop form builder, render them in your JS app, and store form submission data in any backend, inc. PHP, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js.

  • Docusaurus

Easy to maintain open source documentation websites.

  • Maybe something even simpler? A library for documentation: docusaurus
