But to do that, it meant editing Chrome’s group policy settings which is stored in the registry. Many of the NPM packages that edit registry entries fail to build entirely or fail to build on macOS, so rather than go that route I ended up writing a small C# CLI that allowlists a URL protocol for one-click opening on Chrome & Edge. Then, when you run “git peek -r” on Windows it downloads & runs that CLI.
