  Discontinued Matrix chat app for KaiOS feature phones supporting voice calls

My end goal is to sideload a matrix chat app on to my Nokia 6300 4G US phone. Root would be nice but I'm not sure it can be done.

To root the US version I understand I'll need to go into EDL mode using a bin file (if there is one). Does anyone know how I can safely tell if I found the right file? this reddit post suggests there is one with a dead link. I found the file Here. The commit message for this file is "new loaders" and the only other reference I can find online to this file is on mobileread but I cant seem to find the post, just an attachment that isn't helpful. The site seems to be more for e-readers anyway so I'm not sure.
