Random Googling brings me this and I find it quite helpful: https://github.com/TheUsefulLists/UsefulMods/tree/main/Performance
As others have stated, a different fork will help. You're also looking at a truly archaic CPU by modern standards, I'd caution against running too many of the performance mods because you can run into context switching causing more slowdown than the mods are fixing. TO THAT END, I would recommend running Eclipse Adoptium as your JRE and making sure you set some sane vmargs. Be aware: using G1GC causes a slight (10-15%) increase in ram usage but the tradeoff is better performance, especially with highly dynamic builds involving redstone, liquids and moving entities.
