I'm currently trying to run dinit and it's not really working because I don't know how to replace runit with it. I've seen the s6 post with how to do that but it doesn't seem to work for dinit. I git cloned the repo https://github.com/davmac314/dinit and I did make -j$(nproc) and did doas make install -j$(nproc) and it added all the commands that I need or so I thought. Now I need to know which file is needed to boot the dinit because /sbin/init wasn't created so I'm probably missing something (I think the file that is missing is /sbin/init atleast that is the way that artix did it). When I make it only the commands called dinit, dinit-monitor, dinitctl, shutdown (shutdown gets linked to halt reboot and poweroff). That's all, it doesn't seem to really try to replace the init. "dinitctl list" complains about a file not being there (~/.dinitctl). I'm guessing that's because dinit isn't running. So how do I get it running? It's a block in my linux journey where I'm stuck for 3 days so I've decided to give up for now unless somehow someone has an idea. I was testing this on VMware but it seems the same on my laptop.
