Once you've typed them out, you can convert it to many other formats (html, pdf, docx, etc.) using pandoc. There are also tools like litemdview that can preview markdown in real-time from any editor.

That said, if you do want a specialized editor for markdown, I've personally used vnote in the past. I like it because it's native and lightweight.
