  • tmux

    tmux source code

  • I also use iTerm2, not the built in Mac terminal. Install tmux too to be able to detach running programs so they are running in the background. (you can reattach when you need to)

  • ohmyzsh

🙃 A delightful community-driven (with 2,300+ contributors) framework for managing your zsh configuration. Includes 300+ optional plugins (rails, git, macOS, hub, docker, homebrew, node, php, python, etc), 140+ themes to spice up your morning, and an auto-update tool so that makes it easy to keep up with the latest updates from the community.

  • Not sure this fits exactly with what you are asking, but I love https://ohmyz.sh/ on my mac and I pair it with the agnoster theme, customize my command line, and use a couple of the plugins that are available. (not too many as they will slow things down).
