Port forwarding can be daunting at first. Have you had a look at Cloudflare tunnels? They let you in without opening any ports. Have a look at https://github.com/danielewood/plexargod. Make sure that you don't use caching otherwise you risk violating their ToS.
If all else fails, there are other tunnels out there. I think https://ngrok.com/ is still around.
