I'd just like to point out the fact that the VLC media player has, IMO, the best feature of any video player on Linux. Namely, the "Enqueue items into playlist in one instance mode." This basically gives me a music queue for all of my music videos that I pulled from iTunes back in the day. Great feature! Thanks to the guys (and gals I assume; they don't have an "About us" page). Take my upvote and (more importantly) my contribution! You can contribute here: https://www.videolan.org/
Also, MPV can have shader (I don't know if VLC can) so I can use something like Anime4K to upscale the video, mostly anime, and fun fact, you can use MPV as a YouTube player and upscale it too
I use mpv because you can use mpvacious for language study. I also use custom scripts to locate subtitles automatically in non-trivial folder structures.

- I downloaded a movie in 2160p but my MacBook pro 2020 8 512 couldn't play that movie. Format was .mp4 also it's my first ever Mac and I'm so happy
