You need a mod for that. I'm using Simpit as it also allows for feedback to the controller to light some status LEDs or display telemetry data. Or you can use something like QuickSAS (one of the QuickMods https://github.com/linuxgurugamer/QuickMods/tree/master/QuickSAS) to bind SAS directions to keys.
I use the u8x8 library (https://github.com/olikraus/u8g2/wiki/u8x8reference) for the display. I like this library a lot!
