Unfortunately they dropped support for the windows app. My understanding is it's not even supposed to work anymore. Another user did a great job of outlining the official options. An unofficial option is to use Libation* or similar to download your books locally, DRM-free. Then you can play them on any audio software you desire. VLC is one popular free option.
