We built Activepieces to replace Zapier + learnings from last post

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on reddit.com/r/opensource

Our great sponsors
  • Appwrite - The Open Source Firebase alternative introduces iOS support
  • InfluxDB - Access the most powerful time series database as a service
  • Sonar - Write Clean JavaScript Code. Always.
  • activepieces

No-code Business Automation Tool. An open source alternative to Zapier.

Only minor thing I noticed from a quick browse of the code was that you're directly pulling in font files from Google. Not a massive issue for most people but it does cause implicit sharing of data with Google which can be a concern for folks in the open source & self hosted communities. Generally better to bring those kinds of resources into the project to be statically served with the project.

  • n8n

Free and source-available fair-code licensed workflow automation tool. Easily automate tasks across different services.

What differentiates this from things like n8n, node red, and stackstorm? (which sort of occupy a zapier replacement, IoT automation, and infra automation niche, respectively)

  • Appwrite

Appwrite - The Open Source Firebase alternative introduces iOS support . Appwrite is an open source backend server that helps you build native iOS applications much faster with realtime APIs for authentication, databases, files storage, cloud functions and much more!

  • StackStorm

StackStorm (aka "IFTTT for Ops") is event-driven automation for auto-remediation, incident responses, troubleshooting, deployments, and more for DevOps and SREs. Includes rules engine, workflow, 160 integration packs with 6000+ actions (see https://exchange.stackstorm.org) and ChatOps. Installer at https://docs.stackstorm.com/install/index.html

  • Node RED

    Low-code programming for event-driven applications
